




BATA invites program proposals for our 29th Annual Symposium, The Making of Mindfulness through Art. Proposals that highlight the use of art therapy, its theories, and techniques related to art and creativity in the practice of mindfulness, meditation, and DBT are especially welcome.
Proposals must be made according to the following guidelines below.
Proposals must be received by midnight April 15, 2010.
Failure to follow the guidelines may result in disqualification.
The Symposium Committee will review submissions and notification of proposal acceptance will be sent by July 30, 2010.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS:
- Title must be no longer than 10 words, indicating the content of the presentation
Please indicate carefully your audiovisual and technical needs.
- Complete an ABSTRACT. Clearly describe the scope, nature and content of the proposal. Abstracts must be typed, no longer than 50 – 100 words, single-spaced. It should also contain goals and objectives. BATA needs 3 behavioral objectives for so attendees can earn CEUs.
- Complete a SYNOPSIS. This may be no more than 70 words. Include a brief summary of the presentation and whether or not the presentation will be lecture, panel, poster session, open forum, video or workshop. The synopsis will be used to describe your presentation in BATA's Symposium brochure and on-line.
Please note:
If submitting a workshop proposal, the abstract should also include an outline of the proposed activities and type of experience planned.
If submitting a panel proposal, it should describe the panel topics, clearly listing individual contributions of each panelist.
If submitting a poster session it can be: a clinical case vignette, a description of your art therapy program, a research project, personal and/or client artwork, etc. The display should include visual and written material.
If a bibliography is relevant to your presentation, please attach.
Accepted presenters receive a waiver for Symposium registration on the day they present only. Other Symposium fees and expenses are the responsibility of the presenter.
Send one copy of the CALL FOR PAPERS FORM, the OFFICIAL ABSTRACT, and the SYNOPSIS, along with your resume to info@batasymposium.org.
