Spirituality plays an important role in the recovery process&lt;br&gt;
from mental illness. People who are experiencing mental health problems and/or are thinking about suicide often turn to their faith-based leadership for help. The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County and the Cuyahoga County Suicide Prevention Task Force would like to be considered a resource and provide you with the tools needed to assist you in your ministry.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
You or your designee are cordially invited to attend a FREE&lt;br&gt;
breakfast and training especially designed for members of&lt;br&gt;
the faith-based community - Hope &amp;amp; Connection: Suicide&lt;br&gt;
Prevention in Faith Communities.&lt;br&gt;

Registration &amp;amp; buffet breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m., and the presentation will be from 9:00 a.m. - noon on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Downtown, 1100 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115.&lt;br&gt;

FREE parking will be available in the hotel parking lot on a first-come, first- served basis.&lt;br&gt;

This event provides an opportunity for you to meet and interactwith people who provide suicide prevention and mental health services in our community, and hear from Russell Crabtree, a former Presbyterian Minister and founder of BestMinds, LLC, a company that helps groups address the issues of suicide awareness and family violence intervention. Mr. Crabtree offers consulting services on a variety of topics to religious and non-profit organizations. He has been trained in ASIST, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, an evidence based skill building suicide prevention strategy and has trained thousands of people from all walks of life in suicide awareness.&lt;br&gt;

&lt;b&gt;2.75 Recognized Clock Hours (RCH) for Chemical&lt;br&gt;
Dependency Professionals and Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE) to Counselors and Social Workers will be provided.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;

      <title>The Impact of PETS (Pets, Education, Training and Support) (23 May 2012)</title>
      <description>Jane Babinsky is the owner of K9 Piper’s Place Ltd, which&lt;br&gt;
is a dog daycare that offers dog training and grooming&lt;br&gt;
and a retail shop for owners. She has her Bachelors of Arts&lt;br&gt;
in American Studies from Heidelberg College. Jane is an&lt;br&gt;
accredited evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine&lt;br&gt;
Good Citizen Program and Therapy Dogs International, Inc., and a speaker at the national and international conferences organized by Delta Society. She has also written many articles on the subject of Pet Therapy and has been making visits with her dogs since 1978 providing support to families.&lt;br&gt;

Kathryn Harrison Brown, MA, PC&lt;br&gt;
Kathryn Harrison Brown is a Bereavement Coordinator and&lt;br&gt;
a licensed Professional Counselor at Hospice of the Western&lt;br&gt;
Reserve where she works with families who are grieving&lt;br&gt;
due to the death of a loved one. She has her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts from Ursuline College in Psychology. She obtained a Masters in Counseling and Human Services from John Carroll University. She has not only worked with grieving families due to the death of a person but has helped families deal with the loss of a pet.&lt;br&gt;

Conference Objectives:&lt;br&gt;
• Discuss the importance of pets in the lives of adults.&lt;br&gt;
• Discuss how to achieve therapy dog certification.&lt;br&gt;
